Group 1 Car Seats will accommodate your child that weighs between 9kg and 18kg. You may have noticed that there is a slight crossover between the previous Car Seat Group 0+ as these last through to 13kg. Before moving your child into a Group 1 Seat we recommend that your little one has outgrown their Infant Carrier by height (head level with the top of the car seat) and they can sit unaided for 30 minutes.
Group 1 Car Seats are much larger in size and are not as portable as a first stage Infant Carrier; these are designed to stay installed in your car. If you are using a Car Seat that is classified by weight, your child will need to remain rearward until they are at least 9kg and if you are using an iSize seat, your child will need to be rearward until 15 months. Travelling in a rearward facing position will ensure your baby has optimal head, neck and spine protection and overall more support in the unfortunate even of an accident.
